Jharkhand Field Worker Exam Pattern 2026

The Jharkhand Field Worker examination is conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode and consists of three separate papers. Each paper contains objective-type questions with equal marks and duration. Candidates should also note that the examination includes negative marking for incorrect answers.

JSSC Field Worker Paper-I Syllabus (Language)

Paper-I is the Language Test and evaluates candidates’ proficiency in Hindi and English. The paper is designed to assess grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and language usage. Candidates should have a good command of both languages to perform well in this paper.

English LanguageGrammar, Parts of Speech, Tenses, Subject-Verb Agreement, Narration, Voice, Clauses, Prepositions, Vocabulary, Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms & Phrases, Error Detection, Reading Comprehension, and prescribed English literature.

Paper-II: Regional Language

Candidates are required to choose one regional language from the options prescribed by JSSC. The examination evaluates grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and literature of the selected language.

Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Urdu, Santali, Bengali, Mundari, Ho, Kharia, Kurukh (Oraon), Kurmali, Khortha, Nagpuri, Panchpargania, and Odia. Questions will be based on Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension, Language Usage, and the prescribed prose, poetry, stories, and literature of the selected language.

Paper-III: General Knowledge

Paper-III evaluates the candidate’s overall academic knowledge and aptitude. The questions are generally based on the Matriculation (Class 10) standard and cover four major subjects.

General Studies

Questions are designed to assess candidates’ awareness of current affairs and general studies.

Current Affairs, National & State Awards, Indian Languages, Books & Authors, Scripts, Capitals, Currencies, Sports & Sports Personalities, Important National & International Events, Indian History, Indian Culture, Indian Geography, Environment, Freedom Movement, Indian Agriculture, Natural Resources, Indian Constitution & Polity, Panchayati Raj, Community Development, and General Awareness.

General Science

The questions are based on everyday scientific concepts and the knowledge expected from a Class 10 (Matriculation) candidate.

Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Human Health, Everyday Science, Scientific Observation, and General Scientific Concepts up to the Matriculation level.

Mathematics

The Mathematics syllabus is based on the Matriculation (Class 10) standard.

Number System, Simplification, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Time & Work, Time, Speed & Distance, Simple & Compound Interest, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Statistics, Data Interpretation, and Basic Arithmetic.

Mental Ability

The reasoning section assesses logical and analytical thinking.

Analogy, Classification, Coding-Decoding, Number Series, Alphabet Series, Logical Reasoning, Blood Relations, Direction Sense, Ranking, Puzzle, Venn Diagram, Syllogism, Statement & Conclusion, Calendar, Clock, Arithmetic Reasoning, and Decision Making.

Jharkhand General Knowledge

This section is entirely dedicated to Jharkhand-specific General Knowledge.

Geography of Jharkhand, History of Jharkhand, Culture & Civilization, Tribal Communities, Languages & Literature, Important Tourist Places, Mines & Mineral Resources, Industries, Agriculture, Economy, Contribution of Jharkhand in the Freedom Movement, Development Schemes, Administrative System, Sports & Sports Personalities, Important Personalities, and Current Affairs related to Jharkhand.
